On-Site Engagements
On-Site Engagements
On-Site Engagements are a powerful feature that allow you to communicate and effectively engage your visitors in real-time with customised and relevant content. In the editor, you can add, define and manage different types of engagements under the On-Site Engagements section of the Apps menu. If you don't see the feature listed on your Apps page, it hasn't been enabled on your account yet.
1. create new on-site engagement
To create an on-site engagement simply click on the Create New On-Site Engagement button on top of the page. When creating a new on-site engagement, you will be able to view three different sections - Content, Trigger Events and Trigger Settings. Click on top of each section name to read all about how to complete each field.
2. delete on-site engagement
To delete one or more on-site engagement(s), simply select them by clicking on the small square on their left side followed by pressing the Delete button. A confirmation box will appear to which you should answer yes in case you are sure you want to delete the selected on-site engagements or no if you wish to cancel and go back to the on-site engagements list.

Special Trigger Events
Once you have created your On-Site Engagement, you can delve into the more intricate side of these. You are able to set 'Special Trigger Events' which will allow you to select certain demographics that you want the Engagement to be shown to. For example, you can set a Location as 'London' and then only visitors from that area will be able to see the Engagement.
location
This trigger is related to the geographical location of the site's visitor, this means you can determine that a specific on-site engagement will only be shown on a specific location.
The preferences for this trigger include the target location - full address or latitude/longitude - and the target specificity - where should the target branch to: country, region or city.
Page Views
This trigger allows you to define a minimum of page views before the on-site engagement shows; this means that the on-site engagement will only be shown after a visitor has seen a certain number of pages in the site.
The only preference for this trigger is the number of pages viewed before the on-site engagement shows; all you must do is type down the relevant number of pages on the field or use the small arrows to increase/decrease the number.
campaign
This trigger allows you to define a specific campaign URL that will trigger the on-site engagement; this means that the on-site engagement will only be shown when the user visits a specific campaign URL.
The preference for this trigger include the campaign URL parameters that will trigger the on-site engagement: the key - character before "=" - and the value - characters after "=".
SCHEDULE
This trigger allows you to define a start time and an end time for your on-site engagement; this means that the on-site engagement will only be shown between that time interval.
The preferences for this trigger include start and end time - which you can select by clicking on top of the fields and choose it in the calendar, or, in case you don't have a specific hour in mind, check the All Day option - and the timezone - where you can define whether the date and time should be based on the user's timezone (provided by their browser) or a specific timezone. By default, the trigger is set for one month, with the start time being the date of creation and the end time exactly one month past that date.
Visits
This trigger allows you to define the number of website visits before the on-site engagement shows; this means that the on-site engagement will only be shown after a visitor has been on your site a certain number of times.
The only preference for this trigger is the number of website visits before the on-site engagement shows; all you must do is type down the relevant number of visits on the field or use the small arrows to increase/decrease the number.
Scrolling on page
This trigger allows you to define that the on-site engagement should only be displayed when the visitors scrolls to the bottom of the page. To enable this trigger all you have to do is toggle on in the right side of the option.
referral
This trigger allows you to define a specific referral that will trigger the on-site engagement; this means that only the visitors arriving to your site from a referral from the specified site in this section will be shown the on-site engagement.
The preference for this trigger is simply the referral URL. Make sure you type it down as http://www.referralurl.com.
